Volume One’s annual Contriby Awards came roaring back in 2022 after a one-year hiatus, with nearly 100 contributors and friends gathering at a top-secret undisclosed downtown location for food, fellowship, and fabulous awards.

The private event is a party and awards show for the many contributors who cover the community in our pages.

Sixteen trophies were given out to the writers, photographers, artists, and illustrators who make the magazine happen every two weeks – even amid a global pandemic. Most of the winners were voted on by their fellow contributors  for the quality of their craftsmanship. Others winners were honored for the consistency and volume of their work, while still others were chosen by Volume One staff, including the latest winner of the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award, longtime columnist Mike Paulus.

Contributors were welcomed on March 30 with a red carpet photo op, free pizza and beverages, and a whole lot of fun in a Chippewa Valley-centric awards show co-hosted by Volume One’s Nick Meyer and Tom Giffey as well as Eau Claire comedian Cullen Ryan.
