The United States Snowshoe Association has called Eau Claire “a perfect city to host Snowshoe Nationals,” so it’s only fitting the 23rd annual Snowshoe National Championship will be held at Lowes Creek County Park this February.

News broke today (Oct. 26) that Eau Claire would be host to the nationally recognized sporting event, which will be held Feb. 9-11, 2024. Snowshoe enthusiasts from all over the country will gather in our slice of Wisconsin to participate, which will include events like the 5K open, Half-Marathon, kids races, and of course, the 10K National Championship race.

In collaboration with Visit Eau Claire and CORBA, USSSA promises an incredible experience for both participants and spectators at this year’s event. Eau Claire has played host to the Snowshoe National Championship a few times before, first in 2015 and most recently in 2022 (after being postponed in 2021 due to COVID-19). The 2023 race was held in Idaho.

“Eau Claire is a perfect city to host Snowshoe Nationals,” USSSA Director Jackie Herring said in a recent media release. “There are activities and entertainment for everyone and an excellent trail system for the races. The location is great for the Midwest snowshoeing community and we are looking forward to having a whole weekend of winter fun.”

Visit Eau Claire Executive Director Benny Anderson said the organization is thrilled to be partnering with USSSA and CORBA to bring the event to the city. “This event really puts a high note on our city’s comeback story, as this was one of the last events to be canceled during the pandemic,” Anderson said.

The full event schedule, registration, and more information will be released soon.
