The volunteer-run soccer club Bateaux FC of Eau Claire has announced its expansion into the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) for the 2023 season. After claiming the title in the Wisconsin Primary Amateur Soccer League (WPASL) last year, the next, most logical move was expansion.

In the press release that announced the team’s expansion, head coach Nick Noskowiak noted, “It is exciting to see Eau Claire take another step towards being a serious soccer city. What our club has done and will be able to do for this community is what drives us. The competition we expect to meet will challenge us to grow in ways that have not been possible which is another reason to be excited.”

Bateaux’s UPSL team will compete in the Midwest-West Division, starting in Division 1. Upon success, the team has potential to be promoted to the Premier Division. In the WPASL, Bateaux will look to keep the championship streak rolling, having won the last three championships.

Bollinger Fields will once again serve as Bateaux’s home venue in 2023.
