Happy Halloween, Chippewa Vallians! If you haven’t grabbed a big bag of candy for the costumed youngsters who will soon be descending on local homes and businesses, do it now. (Pro tip: Just don't eat it all yourself.) Here are the hours for downtown and residential trick-or-treating in Chippewa Valley communities.
Downtown
Friday, Oct. 29, from 3-5pm

Downtown Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, and Menomonie businesses participate in an annual, earlier trick-or-treat event. Look for posters in participating business windows.
Residential
Sunday, Oct. 31, from 5-7pm
Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Altoona, and Menomonie residential neighborhoods participate in trick or treating on Halloween day.
