DING, DING! THE TROLLEY IS BACK! Chippewa River Trolley Co. unveils new tours, more to come in addition to returning favorites.

The Chippewa River Trolley is kicking off its second season in a big way: Alongside returning favorites from its inaugural season, there are three new adventures debuting this summer – the Local Sports Legends Tour, Urban Nature Adventure Tour, and the Family Trolley Express – plus at least two more set to release in the coming months.

RETURNING FAVORITES

Tickets are available now for eight tours including the charming Signature Eau Claire Trolley Tour that delighted hundreds of riders last summer and fall; as well as popular beverage tours including the Winery & Distillery Tour; The Craft Cocktail Tour; and two Brewery Tours (a Northern and Southern edition). These plus three brand-new tours round out the initial offerings.

URBAN NATURE ADVENTURE

Outdoor enthusiasts will have the opportunity to explore four hidden natural areas with trails and unique features, professionally guided by Naturalists from Beaver Creek Reserve. In this three-hour tour, adventurers will learn about the natural history of the land, waterways, and wildlife that make up our neck of the woods! Come prepared for the weather and moderate hiking. Tickets are $35 for everyone ages 10 and older.

FAMILY TROLLEY EXPRESS

This tour will welcome families and kids around ages 12 and under for a slightly shorter tour that will open children up to the community’s delightful history. Chockfull of historic logging and lumberjack tales, the opportunity to pass through a hidden trail and see vibrant murals and sculptures, plus games, and an off-trolley walk to the S-Bridge, the tour will run about 40-45 minutes. It is not recommended for kids younger than two years old or those requiring rear-facing car seats. Tickets are $18 for adults and $14 for kids ages 12 and under.

LOCAL SPORTS LEGENDS

The local trolley biz invites folks to delve deeper into the Chippewa Valley’s athletics roots with the 65-minute Local Sports Legends Tour, currently offering two dates in June. Detailing unexpected connections to the Packers, Brewers, the Olympics, and more, it will also highlight individuals like Hank Aaron, Bob Ueker, and others. Plus, two off-trolley moments will offer an up-close look at historic facilities. Tickets are $24 for adults and $19 for kids ages 12 and under.

MORE ON THE WAY

Two additional tours will soon release: Making of a Lumber Capital, a deep dive into the industry that truly built our community is soon to come this summer; and the Signature Chippewa Falls Trolley Tour, brought to life in collaboration with the Chippewa Area History Center. And of course, many are awaiting the return of October’s smash-hit, the Dark History Tour.

More dates for most tours will be added throughout the summer, but the 22 available seats fill up fast, so snag tickets to your returning favorites and the brand new tours at ChippewaRiverTrolley.org.
