For years, The Plus (208 S Barstow St., Eau Claire) has hosted an array of exciting events from live music to live talk shows, and even wrestling shows. Notably, The Plus has been home of local comedy group and events organizer, Clear Water Comedy, for the last nine years, hosting local and nationally touring comedy acts.

For the first time ever, The Plus is hosting one headlining comedian for three days in a row, something that’s usually only seen in comedy clubs in larger cities, said Cullen Ryan, event coordinator at The Plus and co-founder of Clear Water Comedy. “In Madison, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis, comedians will perform for a few nights in a row at the same club. We’ve never even tried that here. It’s very exciting,” Ryan said.

Louis Katz will be making his way to Eau Claire from July 18-20 for three nights of electric comedy. Katz’s standup has been featured on NBC, HBO, and Comedy Central, including his own half-hour special on This Is Not Happening, which has garnered over 2.9 million views on YouTube.

Comedian Dave Attell called Katz “one of the best joke writers working today,” and Ali Wong praised him by calling him “one of the funniest and most prolific comedians I know.”

Ryan says if this night goes well, The Plus plans to hold more comedy runs like this in the future, possibly solidifying it as Eau Claire’s own stand-up comedy club.
